How Is Wall Panel Fixed To The Wall?

Wall panels for bathrooms and kitchens can be fixed in a number of ways, depending both upon your preference and the condition of the substrate to which the panels are to be fixed.

If the walls are flat and true, most people prefer to stick the panels straight to the wall with an impact adhesive such as PinkGrip. This gives a fast, secure and permanent bond and greatly reduces the time needed for the installation. PinkGrip can be used to stick the panels straight over the top of existing tiles providing the tiles are soundly fixed and relatively flat. Make sure that the surface to which you are fixing is free from any grease or dust before installing the panels and support as necessary whilst the adhesive takes hold.

If the walls or existing tiles are uneven, you will need to fix battens in place before you can install the panels. Battens should be spaced at 250mm to 400mm centres to ensure an even finish. Once in place, fix the PVC panels to the battens through the lip of each panel using non-corrosive nails, screws or staples. The next panel is then pushed into place to hide the fixing and secured in the same manner as before.

Hygiene Cladding, which generally comes in larger sheets, is installed using Stormgrip panel adhesive.
