Waste pipes are used to convey waste water, often referred to as foul drainage, to the above or below ground drainage system.
Polypropylene push fit waste pipes are available in three size options. 32mm is generally used for washbasins and bidets, 40mm is used for baths, showers, kitchen sinks and dishwashers. 50mm waste is commonly used for commercial applications or where a number of waste pipes come together in a single flow.
This push fit waste system is manufactured in the UK to BS EN 1451 and is British Standard kitemarked.
When making a push fit joint, cut the pipe square and remove any burrs, push the pipe into the fitting as far as it will go and then withdraw it by approximately 10mm to allow for any expansion. The joint can be taken apart again if required, but always check that the O ring has not been dislodged from its housing groove in the fitting as this will cause the joint to leak.
If you do plan to take the joint apart once it has been made we would suggest the use of SL40 spray lubricant to reduce the risk of friction and possible movement of the O ring.
